Completed by:12 Jul 09 -Manchester-Blackpool
Completed by:31 May 09 -Manchester-Liverpool
Completed by:We are looking to put together a "back-to-back" ride sometime in late October, where we would ride concecutive days for a reasonable distance (as yet to be determined).
Suggestions so far include doing a couple of sections of the Cheshire Cycle way, which is usually considered to be a 4 day circular ride. Other suggestions (including "dont be so bloody stupid" are welcome).
Every Sunday morning, whoever can make it, will be meeting opposite the Smithy Pub in Cheadle Hulme at 8:45am. We will be riding out towards Macclesfield through the country roads, beginning with rides of about 15 miles. Everyone is welcome and wherever possible the route will allow for those of differing levels to determine a suitable mileage.
It is the intention to slowly increase the time spend riding at a steady pace, increasing distance to gain initial fitness and stamina, then concentrating on speed endurance (this doesnt mean we will be rocketing along at Tour De France pace!).
Eventually, we will begin to add a few climbs to build strength endurance once we feel ready.
